Web Of Ideas are working with Gilbert Biberian, the world renowned classical guitarist, to develop a 'music school' website where students can view video lessons by Glibert and other world-famous musicians.
Students can pay online for lessons, download them or view them directly on the website using streaming video.
The website also incorporates an online shop where customers can purchase instruments and accessories.
The website featues a shopping-cart and secure online credit-card processing.

Web Of Ideas was contracted in 2006 by the outsourcing partner for Gloucester County Council to work on internal systems designed to record information on children under the care of the council.
The data is then analysed to flag potential problems before they become serious.
We were contracted again in 2007 to develop a secure (https) external website and database system that allows local authorities throughout the South-West region to match adults with learning disabilities to suitable care-homes.

Web Of Ideas was contracted by Nu-Way Limited to provide back-end support for a new eCommerce website
The companies inventory and order processing system is a legacy manufacturing system that has no external interface.
Web Of Ideas developed a custom secure web-service that enabled the eCommerce website to access the inventory data and place orders.
Web Of Ideas also developed an intranet to enable Nu-Way staff to content-manage the products that appear on the eCommerce website.
The data recorded by the intranet is made available to the eCommerce website via a secure web-service.

Shiny Pretty Stuff sell jewellery at local events and via jewellery parties in peoples houses / workplaces.
The product range, structure, descriptions and pictures are all updateable via a simple, password protected, administration section.

Web Of Ideas have been sub-contracted by Custom Consulting Services on two recent projects:
1) To advise on a custom, scaleable database / internet / intranet system for a successful local business that is planning to franchise its brand nationwide.
2) To analyse and present data from a complex spreadsheet-based order entry system, and advise on replacement of the system.

The company have a legacy inventory / order processing system that it is not cost-effective to replace, but which is subject to human error on order entry, and is not easy to extract data from.
Web Of Ideas developed an intranet to interface to the legacy system, place orders and extract information on historical orders.
The intranet gives many benefits:
i) Performs user-entry checks to minimise human error.
ii) Provides an easy-to-use search facility on existing orders.
iii) Allows security to be applied so only relevant staff can add and update orders. Other staff can be given 'read only' access.
